What made you want to join Neon Hive?
I have always liked the idea of working in an agency, where I would be encouraged to think creatively. Neon Hive is a bustling talented team of creatives, where every day is different. Working alongside nationally recognised brands, I did not want to miss out on the opportunity to be a part of this team. The office is also a pretty fantastic spot!
What aspect of working with us are you most excited about?
Of the many aspects, I was most excited about the collaboration between the team. Designing can be lonely, spending all of your time behind a screen. But working at Neon Hive provides a collaborative setting where you can bounce around ideas and generate more meaningful outcomes.?
Describe your personality in 3 words
Kind, grounded & considerate
Who in your life inspires you?
I find inspiration from a variety of things, but I would have to say my family and friends take the cake. I am continually inspired by their strength, growth and they motivate me every day.?
Who would you most like to swap lives with for a day and why?
Currently, I would have to say the photographer Platon. He is famously known for his iconic portraiture for Time Magazine, where he creates very intense and authentic imagery. I have had the intention to buy a proper film camera for a while, inspired by his work but am yet to do it (I’ll make it a 2021 resolution).?
Tell us about your favourite design project to date.
Difficult question! One that I enjoyed was a branding project, where I developed a sustainability certification called ‘The Kind Project’. This branding design and campaign illustrated the need for greater transparency between businesses to the end consumer about the unsustainable methods made to create certain products.?
Where do you draw inspiration from?
Your top 3 favourite Podcasts/Books?
I would have to say my top podcast picks are Pod Save the World, and the 10 Part series by Rukmini Callimachi called Caliphate. Choosing a favourite book/s is difficult, however, I recently enjoyed Adam Kays ‘This is Going to Hurt'. I have also been enjoying listening to audiobooks. Free from your local library, I would really recommend it!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I love spending time with my family and friends, where you will see us parked up in the mornings at either Hayes Common or Grey Gardens with a bagel in hand. I also enjoy going on walks around the Lake and hitting the op shops.?
What music do you listen to when designing?
I tend to gravitate to the same playlist when I am designing. It’s a bit of a mismatch of artists including Fleetwood Mac, Kevin Abstract, Marlin’s Dreaming, Frank Ocean, Brockhampton and the one and only Harry Styles ??.?
Lastly, and most importantly, how do you take your coffee?
A coconut milk flattie, with a sprinkle of chocolate on top if I am feeling fancy!
